Icelandair and Emirates have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, the airlines will work towards a joint codeshare agreement that will enable customers to easily travel across the two airlines’ networks and open up exciting new travel routes.
The MoU was signed at the ITB Travel Trade Show in Berlin. The strategic partnership between Icelandair and Emirates will significantly enhance both airlines’ seamless connectivity offerings, allowing customers to travel on a single ticket and have their baggage checked all the way to their final destination.
“We are pleased to announce our upcoming strategic partnership with Emirates, which opens up new opportunities for our customers in the Middle East and Asia. Emirates will be Icelandair’s seventh global airline partnership. We have and will continue to expand our network of partner airlines and focus on working with airlines that offer excellent service and connectivity. We welcome Emirates as a partner and look forward to working with them to make our passengers’ travels smooth and enjoyable,” says Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair.
“We are delighted to deepen our partnership with Icelandair. Their network complements our presence in Europe and offers a range of connections for our customers to diversify their travel. Together, we will open up new travel opportunities and more choice for customers.
