Scandic Landvetter is recruiting internal talent Johan Djerf as Hotel Director. Johan has many years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, both as a self-employed person and at Scandic. He most recently came from Scandic Borås where he acted as Acting Hotel Director.

With its 223 rooms, Scandic Landvetter acts as both a meeting place for international visitors and as the first holiday stop for thousands of travelers since opening in 2021. Here, Johan Djerf is directly assigned to continue building the hotel as the central accommodation and meeting alternative, in Swedavia's initiative for the sustainable airport city of the future. Johan takes over from Martin Plyhr, who has taken up his new role as hotel director at Scandic Opalen in Gothenburg.

– I am very pleased to be able to introduce Johan Djerf as the new hotel director at Scandic Landvetter. The hotel is an important destination for Gothenburg, for those who live and work in the region. Johan has solid experience in service and is a highly valued leader. He has the strength of having worked for many years in operations and I am convinced that Johan, together with his employees, will deliver truly great guest experiences, says Kristian Andreasson, District Director for Scandic in Western Sweden.

With extensive experience working with guest experiences and service, primarily with a focus on food, his career at Scandic took off in 2015, then as sous chef at Scandic Crown in Gothenburg. The next step took Johan to the role of hotel manager at No25, and now to take up the role of hotel director at Scandic Landvetter. In 2019, Johan was nominated for Scandic's internal leadership program Talent@Scandic, where he, together with other talents, was trained for a year in leadership, commercial and operational development, as well as project management and financial understanding with the aim of becoming a future leader within the company.

– It is with great enthusiasm and humility that I take on the task of driving Scandic Landvetter forward together with my new colleagues. We are an important and central player in Swedavia's establishment of the airport city of the future and have a unique opportunity to unite people from all over the world, without them having to leave the airport. Given our attractive location, we also get to act as the first or last day of vacation for many guests, and have an important responsibility in meeting both expectations and travel fever in a place that never sleeps, says Johan Djerf, newly appointed hotel director at Scandic Landvetter.

The fact that travel has picked up again after the pandemic is clear at the airport hotel, which is facing extensive summer recruitment.

– We are noticing that travel is booming again and for me there will now be a big focus on building a strong team for the summer peak season. There is a need to recruit everything from receptionists and cleaning staff to chefs. We welcome both experienced people from the industry and young people who are going out on their first job, it is a perfect opportunity to learn about the hospitality industry and create summer job memories for life, says Johan Djerf.

Johan Djerf assumed his role as Hotel Director of Scandic Landvetter on February 2, 2023.

According to the press release.
