In July, Norwegian had 2,526,093 passengers while Widerøe had 331,035. In total, the group had 2,857,128 passengers. For Norwegian, this was an increase of 9 percent compared to July last year and is the highest number of passengers since 2019. Unit revenue touched last year's July record.

– I am very pleased with all the work our colleagues have done during the most travel-intensive month of the year. The effort is reflected in the results for July, which include a record number of passengers since before the pandemic. I am particularly pleased with the improved cabin factor, which has increased compared to last year, despite a 10 percent capacity increase. It is also pleasing to see a stable booking trend for August and during the autumn, says Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.

Norwegian's capacity (ASK) was 4,068 million seat kilometers, an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 3,763 seat kilometers, and there was also an increase of 10 percent from July 2023. The cabin factor increased by 0.1 percentage points from July 2023 to 92.5 percent. This corresponds to an increase of 8 percent from the previous month. In July, 99.5 percent of all scheduled flights were operated. Punctuality, which measures the number of departures within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 67.6 percent, down 5.6 percentage points from July last year. 93 percent of all flights landed within 60 minutes of the regular schedule. In July, there were many restrictions in the airspace in Europe and with a large number of flights, this resulted in several delays for the entire aviation industry. Norwegian had an average of 87 aircraft in operation in July.

Strong month also for Widerøe
Widerøe also delivered strong traffic figures in July compared to the same month last year. The cabin factor increased by 4 percent compared to last year and was a full 83.5 percent.

– We are pleased that Widerøe continues to deliver good figures month after month. The cabin factor for July was the highest that Widerøe has ever had in a July. This shows that passengers appreciate the high level that our colleagues at Widerøe deliver. We look forward to continuing the development of a strong product for both companies, continues Geir Karlsen.

In July, Widerøe had a capacity (ASK) of 201 million seat kilometers. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 168 million seat kilometers while the load factor was 83.5 percent, an increase of 4 percentage points from July last year. Widerøe publishes its traffic figures via a separate press release on the company's press room.

According to the press release.
