Boeing will not be allowed to ramp up production of the crashed and rebranded 737 Max aircraft for several months, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has said, CNBC reports.
“We will not approve production beyond the current limit until we are satisfied,” said Mike Whitaker, administrator at the FAA, referring to the airline’s quality work. Since January, the FAA has stopped the American aircraft manufacturer from increasing production of the aircraft type.
The reason was the accident when a door plug came loose during a flight with Alaska Airlines that same month.
