German airline Lufthansa apologizes for the major flight chaos that has erupted in Europe, saying it is due to staff shortages and the war in Ukraine, according to a message sent to travelers, Bloomberg reports.

A solution to the situation is not expected until next summer, writes Lufthansa, which is one of many companies whose customers are affected by long delays and canceled flights.

Airlines and airports have been forced to reorganize and are now retooling their operations after the consequences of the corona pandemic brought the aviation sector to a standstill.
