
The airline Lufthansa is taking a number of measures to counter the effects of the coronavirus, the company announced in a press release.
The company is cutting the budget for administrative departments and will offer staff unpaid leave with immediate effect and is expanding options for part-time work.
In addition, the company is putting a stop to all new hires and training courses. Participants in new hire courses will not be employed after completing their training.
The company writes that it is not yet possible to see the financial effects of the coronavirus, but will comment on the matter at a press conference on March 19 ahead of the annual results.
Lufthansa Group has previously cancelled all flights to mainland China until March 28. The company will make further adjustments to routes between Hong Kong and Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
