A memorial site after a fatal accident on the train tracks has become a torment for the train driver who drove the train during the incident in Södermanland.
The driver passes the scene almost daily and feels mentally unwell every time he sees lit candles and other mementos placed by the tracks by the survivors of the person who was hit. SJ has now asked for the municipality's help to remove the flowers and candles.
– It is not a requirement from our side but a request. I am aware that it is a sensitive issue – for both parties, says Magnus Rogberg, group manager at SJ, to Katrineholms-Kuriren.
The fatal accident occurred some time ago. The train driver took the incident very hard but has now returned to his job.
According to the municipal lawyer, they have not yet been in contact with the survivors.
