New certification of Sweden's campsites

SCR Svensk Camping launches a certification for Sweden's campsites.

Now SCR Svensk Camping is launching a certification for Sweden's campsites. The certification is a complement to the national classification and shows that the campsite meets the expectations and requirements of guests, the industry and authorities. The certification is an important part of SCR Svensk Camping's quality work and for the vision of Sweden being Europe's best camping destination.

The certification assures the guest that the facility complies with applicable laws and regulations and meets the industry's rules for good business ethics and serious business. The classification also provides the guest with additional information about the facility's standard level and the range of services available on site. Together, the two quality systems provide the guest with a complete basis for making decisions about their holiday choice.

-The interest in discovering Sweden with the campsite as a base has never been greater. Together with our classification, the new certification becomes another tool to ensure the quality of the guest experience. A visit to a certified campsite should be a safe and secure choice for the guest, says Peter Jansson, acting CEO.

The Certified Swedish Campsite sign may only be placed on facilities that meet the certification requirements during an annual review. In total, the certification covers more than 30 different control points and concerns the work environment, sustainability, complaints procedures and on-site safety.

The certification covers the following areas:

  • Sustainable business
  • Security
  • Guest relations
  • Regulations and regulatory requirements

-2022 will most likely be a new record year for our industry and our members. The booking situation for the summer is 15 percent higher than last year and we see that our marketing efforts in both Germany and Norway are now yielding results. With more and more guests and new types of camping operators on the market, long-term quality work becomes even more important. A visit to an SCR-affiliated campsite should guarantee guests an experience that meets their expectations, says Peter Jansson, acting CEO.

To be a member of SCR Svensk Camping, the certification must be renewed once a year.
