The setbacks for American aircraft manufacturer Boeing continue.
On Monday, the company's French competitor Airbus signed a multi-billion pound contract with China for the purchase of 300 aircraft.
The huge order is worth around 30 billion euros, just over 300 billion Swedish kronor, and was one of many deals signed when China's Xi Jinping visited French President Emmanuel Macron this week, reports the Financial Times.
According to the FT, the deal is another blow for Boeing as it tries to restore confidence following two plane crashes within five months. Chinese airlines operate 96 aircraft of the troubled Boeing 737 MAX 8 model, and the country was the first to impose a flight ban after the Ethiopian Airlines crash on 10 March, which claimed 157 lives.
