One in six, 17.4 percent, have already decided to go on a ski vacation this season. At the same time, many are still undecided, according to an independent survey by the research firm Infostat.

Ski holidays in Sweden are the third most popular form of holiday after sun holidays abroad and sun holidays in Sweden. In the national ski survey, Infostat provides answers about households' plans for the 2024 ski season.

— That one in six chooses to go on a skiing holiday this year can be seen as relatively high figures, given that many households are in a more strained financial situation this season, says Mårten Lindberg, Marketing Manager at Infostat.

"The most common ski tourist is a family with children. In that group, over one in five is going on a ski holiday this season," says Mårten Lindberg, Marketing Manager at Infostat.

Recent years have been positive for the country's ski resorts, with high values of ski days sold and ski pass turnover.

— Among families with children, a full 8 out of 10 who usually go on a skiing holiday will also go this year. These are surprisingly positive figures, as our analyses show that families with children have been particularly hard hit by inflation in 2023. Together with favorable weather conditions, the measurement shows that we can expect many skiers on the slopes this year as well, says Mårten Lindberg, Marketing Manager at Infostat.

With just over five weeks left until the winter break, many people still haven't decided. Among those who usually go on a skiing holiday, just over one in four (23 percent) still haven't decided.

According to the press release.
