There will be no conflict between the Hotel and Restaurant Union and the employer organization Visita. This is clear after the parties accepted the mediators' offer late on Monday evening.

Both the union and employer sides are satisfied after the notice of strike and blockade was called off.

”"We are very satisfied with the agreement, which gives our members a good salary increase and a lot of order and order in the industry," says Malin Ackholt, chairwoman of the Hotel and Restaurant Union.

”"I am very happy that we have managed to avert the threat of conflict. It has been very long and tough negotiations, first with the union and then with the mediator," says Torbjörn Granevärn, head of negotiations at Visita.

One conflict issue was about salary, where the agreement involves an increase in line with the so-called mark, i.e. 5.4 percent over 29 months.

”"The most important issues for us were the salary increase, and stopping the abuse of the single-day employment form. Now there will be order and order when it comes to scheduling," says Malin Ackholt.

It was on November 6 that the union announced a strike and blockade starting Tuesday, November 17 at 2 p.m. Initially, the conflict was to include 22 restaurants. But there will be no strike.

”"It is important. In the situation that the hospitality industry is in now, it is of great value that the parties can reach an agreement without conflict. This means stability and peace of mind and allows companies to focus on dealing with other things, such as the pandemic," says Torbjörn Granevärn.

The union side is also happy that the conflict did not occur.

”"Our ambition is always to sign agreements without notice. Now we were forced to do it, but now we are very happy to have reached an agreement," says Malin Ackholt.
