Norway will end remaining pandemic restrictions at 4 p.m. on Saturday, the government in Oslo announced. But not entirely in relation to abroad.
This includes the requirement to maintain a distance of one meter from other people. The one-meter rule has been in place in Norway since March 12 last year.
The opening plan is called "A normal everyday life with increased preparedness".
Entry and exit restrictions are also being lifted, but not as abruptly. For the EU/Schengen area plus the UK and ”purple” countries, they will be lifted on Saturday. Then, relaxations will also come into effect for ”orange” areas – including large parts of Sweden.
However, certain rules in accordance with the color system Norway uses depending on the spread of infection in different countries remain.
The general international travel advice that has been in place for almost the entire world will end, but only when it expires on October 1, which is in a week. At that time, Norway will return to specific travel recommendations for each country, the government says. Travelers will be able to use the new app Reiseklar to keep track of what is in effect.
