In August, Norwegian had 2,420,727 passengers and Widerøe had 366,216. In total, the group had 2,786,943 passengers, with several records. This applies in particular to Widerøe, which set a new passenger record for the third month in a row. Norwegian's summer program for 2026 will be launched in September.

– August was a good end to a record summer. This confirms that the planning for this year's peak season has been adapted to demand and that we have an attractive product that customers appreciate. We will build on this going forward. We also had good punctuality and high regularity for both Norwegian and Widerøe this month, says Norwegian's CEO Geir Karlsen.

Norwegian's capacity (ASK) in August was 3,979 million seat kilometers, up 2 percent from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 3,420 million seat kilometers, up 2 percent. The load factor was 86 percent, up 0.2 percentage points. Norwegian had an average of 91 aircraft in operation in August.

Widerøe's capacity (ASK) was 193 million seat kilometers, down 0.3 percent from last year. Actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 150 million seat kilometers while the load factor was 77.5 percent, up 1.1 percentage points.

The punctuality for Norwegian and Widerøe, the proportion of departures that depart within 15 minutes of the regular schedule, was 81.2 percent and 91.8 percent respectively. In August, 99.7 percent of Norwegian's scheduled flights were operated, while Widerøe operated 98.6 percent of its flights.

Summer program 2026
On September 10, Norwegian launches its 2026 summer program with destinations in over 35 countries.

– Next summer season we will have over 300 routes to over 120 destinations, giving customers a wide selection of travel options. Demand going forward is good and we are looking forward to a travel-intensive autumn. Those planning to travel during the autumn should book soon as there is already a high demand during that period, continues Geir Karlsen.

During the summer, six new Boeing 737 MAX 8s were delivered to Norwegian as part of a fleet renewal. In August, a new route between Stockholm Arlanda and Sharm el-Sheikh was launched, which will operate during the winter season.
