The Norwegian group had a total of 2.03 million passengers in March. Of these, 1.68 million travelled with Norwegian and 350,000 with Widerøe.
The month was characterised by strong demand in connection with an early Easter, while the booking situation for the spring and summer season continues to look promising.
- We are very pleased with the traffic figures for March and delighted that so many chose to fly with us over Easter. The high load factor shows that customers appreciate our route network and that we have adapted our capacity well, says Norwegian CEO Geir Karlsen.
Norwegian's capacity decreased slightly compared to the previous year, while passenger traffic increased. The cabin factor was 87.7 percent, a clear improvement compared to the year before. Regularity was 99.2 percent and punctuality was 87.8 percent.
Widerøe also reported positive figures with increased passenger traffic and improved punctuality. The load factor rose to 73.8 percent and punctuality improved significantly compared to the same period last year.
According to Norwegian, demand continues to be positively affected leading up to the summer, but the company is simultaneously monitoring the development of rising fuel prices. However, through fuel hedging, a buffer has been created to manage price fluctuations.
– It is crucial to be able to continue offering competitive airfares, says Geir Karlsen.
