This week marks the start of the most intense travel period of the year as the industrial holiday season gets underway in earnest. Travel agency Ticket's latest survey shows that the biggest worry about summer travel is getting sick before or during the trip. Meanwhile, Spain continues to attract the most travelers, with Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca at the top of the most booked travel destinations.

This week marks the start of the most intense travel period of the year as many Swedes begin their summer vacation. The latest survey by travel agency Ticket shows that the biggest worry before traveling is getting sick before or during the vacation, according to 36 percent of those surveyed. This is followed by concerns about flight delays or cancellations (24 percent) and losing luggage (23 percent).

– As the holiday approaches, it's easy to focus on everything that could go wrong. But the vast majority of trips go according to plan. A good piece of advice is to review your travel insurance and find out what protection is in place if something unforeseen happens during your trip, says Tiyoneh Jah, PR and communications manager at Ticket.

The survey also shows that women worry slightly more than men before their vacation. A quarter of men say they don't worry about anything at all before their trip, while the corresponding percentage among women is 16 percent.

Ahead of the upcoming holiday weeks, Spain continues to be the top holiday favorite for Swedes. Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca are the three most booked destinations.

– Spain continues to attract many Swedes with a wide range of holiday resorts, many departures and a sunny climate. Alicante, Malaga and Mallorca are destinations that suit many different types of travellers and therefore continue to be at the top, says Tiyoneh Jah.
