A setback for all shameless gourmets – but the naked truth is that too few guests came.
In November 2017, the restaurant O'Naturel opened its doors in the City of Light. Owners Mike and Stephane Saade have been offering French delicacies such as oysters, foie gras and snails, nothing unusual in themselves, but unlike other restaurants, guests are asked to leave all clothes (and mobile phones) in the wardrobe.

But the concept has not gone as well as the owners had hoped. Despite loaner slippers and a thick white curtain to protect against prying eyes from passersby, there have been too few visitors.

”"We thank everyone who participated in this adventure. We will only remember the fun times and the amazing people we met," the brothers write on the restaurant's Facebook page.

A restaurant for nudists may sound like a daring idea, but perhaps not in France. The country is the world's most popular destination for nudists, with over four million scantily clad visitors a year.

In Paris, a new nudist zone opened this summer in the city's largest park, and visitors to the city can go naked at both stand-up comedy and museums.

But that didn't help the Saade brothers, on February 16th O'Naturel closed its doors for the last time.
