But Swedes are also planning to travel to Los Angeles during the gala. Travellink, one of the leading online travel agencies, has investigated travel trends related to the Oscars and the filming locations of the nominated films. 

• France is the European country most likely to search for flights to Los Angeles during the Oscars, between March 3 and March 17, 2024. Germany is in second place and Spain is in third. 24 percent more French and Germans have searched for flights to Los Angeles during the Oscars period, compared to 2023.
   
• Among Swedes, searches for trips to Los Angeles during the same period have increased by 4 percent this year compared to last year.
   
• Bookings to Los Angeles, where Barbie was filmed, increased by a whopping 91 percent from the premiere on July 19 to the end of August 2023.
   

Popular to visit the filming locations

Visiting the locations where movies were filmed has become a popular travel trend all over the world. Every year, many films are nominated that pique travelers' curiosity. The trend is also reflected in this year's nominees, including the famous biography of the father of the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer, with 13 nominations, Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio with 10 nominations, Barbie with 8 nominations and Past Lives with 2 nominations.

• Barbie premiered on July 19, 2023. Here, the number of flight bookings to visit the filming location in Los Angeles, California increased by +91% during July and August 2023 compared to the previous year.
   
• Oppenheimer premiered on July 19, 2023. Here, the number of flight bookings to visit the filming location Albuquerque, New Mexico has increased by +76% in July and August 2023 compared to the previous year.
   
• Killers of the Flower Moon premiered on October 18, 2023. Here, the number of flight bookings to visit the filming location Oklahoma, USA has increased by +47% in October and November 2023.
