Swedes from twelve counties are allowed into Denmark, but the same requirements do not apply to all of them. Those who are not aware of the requirements for valid reasons for the visit or have at least six overnight stays booked risk being rejected at the border, which has affected unknowing Swedes who have been stopped, reports Southern Swedish.

Swedes from Skåne, Blekinge and Halland are subject to special rules and are allowed to enter Denmark without any special reason. However, those coming from any of the other nine green counties must have a reason or at least six booked overnight stays in the country to be allowed in. The booked overnight stays must be proven. Other reasons include working in the country or visiting a relative, according to the Danish police website.

The nine green counties that have special requirements for, for example, overnight stays are: Västerbotten, Jämtland, Uppsala, Södermanland, Östergötland, Örebro, Värmland, Kalmar and Kronoberg.
