The Norwegian airline Norwegian had just over 1.5 million passengers in November, 13 percent more than in November last year. The Finnish airline Finnair, in turn, reported an increase of almost 10 percent in November.

Capacity measured as ASK and traffic measured as RPK for Norwegian both increased by 28 percent in November this year compared to November last year. The cabin factor, a measure of capacity utilization, increased by 0.1 percentage point to 82.5 percent.

”"We are pleased that Norwegian showed a small increase in cabin factor while achieving significant double-digit capacity growth compared to last year. This shows that our winter program is being well received by our passengers. Although unit revenue was affected by a significant increase in average flight distance, unit cost is also significantly lower," comments Geir Karlsen, CEO of the Norwegian Group in the press release.

He also states that bookings "seem encouraging, especially ahead of the busy Christmas travel period.".

The above traffic figures refer to the airline Norwegian, and exclude Widerøe, which is also now part of the Norwegian group.

The Finnish airline Finnair had 892,700 passengers in November, almost 10 percent more than in November 2023. This is according to a press release.

Capacity measured as ASK increased by 5.6 percent while traffic measured as RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers) increased by 9.9 percent. Capacity utilization increased by 2.9 percentage points to 73.9 percent.
