Per Sjödell new to state-owned Visit Sweden's board

At this year's general meeting at the end of April, a new member was elected to the board of directors of the state-owned marketing company for the tourist country of Sweden, Visit Sweden AB: Per Sjödell.

Per Sjödell (b. 1972) has a master's degree in economics from Linköping University. He has a background as Global Marketing Director H&M, Marketing Director ICA, CEO Pocket Shop and Sweden CEO of Gant and Fiskars. He has been Chairman of the Board of Lindex, Lyko and Nordic Morning and a board member of Stockmann and Akademibokhandeln.

Today, Per is the Chairman of the Board of Arkvision Nordic, Identity Works, Equestrian Stockholm and Parfym.se. He is also a board member of Spendrups, Swedavia, Spring Wine & Spirits, Haypp Group and Carismar Software.

– Per will be a good addition and complement to the board with his broad experience and commitment to, among other things, marketing, value creation and digitalization, says Karin Johansson, Chairwoman of Visit Sweden.

– I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jari Virtanen who, after nine years of wisdom, is now handing over the baton as board member of Visit Sweden to Per.

In connection with the Annual General Meeting, Jari Virtanen, CEO of Stena Line Travel & Retail Group, who has served on the board as a member since 2014, was thanked. Both the chairman, company and owner expressed their gratitude for Jari's high level of competence and commitment.
