Two Air France pilots have been suspended after being struck in the cockpit while the plane was in the air, according to reports to Swiss media. The Tribune.

The company is being scrutinized in a report, which shows that some of its pilots are violating safety procedures.

The two suspended pilots fought in the cockpit on a flight between Geneva and Paris in June, according to the newspaper. The flight was able to continue without being affected by the fight and the plane landed safely.

The newspaper writes that cabin crew intervened in the fight, and one person remained in the cockpit with the pilots for the rest of the flight.

The incident was highlighted in a report from France's aviation safety authority (BEA), which said some Air France pilots were not fully following safety protocols.

The report also mentions a case from 2020, when a fuel leak occurred on a plane en route from the capital of Congo-Brazzaville to Paris. The pilots diverted the plane but did not land as soon as possible, as required by procedure.

Three similar events between 2017 and 2022 are highlighted in the report.

Air France states that the company will conduct a safety review and promises to follow the recommendations raised by BEA, including making the training manual stricter about adhering to procedures.

The company notes, however, that it operates thousands of flights daily and that the report only mentions a few incidents. The Air France pilots' union insists that safety is of paramount importance to all pilots.
