All on board died in the crash, Russian authorities said.

Flight 6W703, an Antonov AN148 belonging to Saratov Airlines, took off at 2:21 p.m. local time with 65 passengers and six crew members on board. The plane was en route to the city of Orsk in the Orenburg region of southern Russia, the Russian news agency Interfax reported. But the plane crashed just southeast of the Russian capital after just six minutes, according to the flightradar24 website.

Relatives have begun gathering at Orsk International Airport. An airport spokesperson tells Interfax that they are trying to provide them with all available information.

"Preliminarily, the plane crashed near Argunovo. The crew and passengers had no chance of survival," a source told Interfax.

According to the Russian Prosecutor's Office for Transport Affairs, everyone on board died in the crash, several media outlets report.

Another source says that they have received witness reports from the Ramenskoye district about a burning plane on its way down.

The remains of at least two people have been found in the area where the plane crashed, according to Russian authorities. A video clip on the Russian news site life.ru shows wreckage from the plane lying in what appears to be a snow-covered meadow near the village of Stepanovskoye.

”Almost everyone on board is from the Orenburg region,” the governor’s spokesman, Sergei Shermetsinsky, told Interfax:

The information available suggests that there were more than 60 people on board. Almost all of them are from the eastern parts of the region.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to those who lost relatives in the accident, according to Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

”"The president has ordered the government to form a working group to investigate the plane crash in the Moscow region," Peskov said in a statement quoted by state media outlet RT. The incident will initially be handled as a criminal investigation, Interfax reported.

The aircraft type has two jet engines and, according to the manufacturer, has up to 85 seats. The aircraft is manufactured in Ukraine by Antonov and in Voronezh in Russia. It entered commercial service in 2009.

The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no information that Swedes were on board.

”"We are investigating it, but as the situation stands now we do not have any such information," says Foreign Ministry spokesperson Katarina Byrenius Roslund to TT.
