LOn Wednesday, April 23, Liseberg opened its gates for the summer season and it was the premiere of the new area Luna Park. The area was inaugurated by none other than the six-year-old visitor of the same name, Luna Park, who cut the ribbon and took the first ride on the new attractions. – Riding Turbo was the most fun, Luna Park, 6 years old from Gothenburg, told us.

During the Easter break, Liseberg was looking for people named Luna to help inaugurate the new area up on the mountain – Luna Park. In total, the amusement park received over 1,000 applications from Lunas all over the country. 20 were selected to come to Liseberg with their families for the premiere. Among them was six-year-old Luna Park, who cut the ribbon and inaugurated the new area of the same name.

– It was fun to inaugurate and cut the ribbon, but riding Turbo was the most fun, said Luna Park, 6 years old from Gothenburg.

Luna Park is located on the mountain above FlumeRide, by Aerospin and Blomsterkarusellen with a view of the entire amusement park. The area is decorated with lots of lighting, ornate architecture and a wealth of innovation and is a tribute to a historical concept that has existed in amusement parks since the 1860s. It is also the first part of Liseberg's investment for the 100th anniversary that awaits next year. Then the area will be complemented by another attraction - the Luna roller coaster. But already this year the two new attractions opened Turbo & Tempus.

– It is a fantastically beautiful area with lighting and decor and magnificent views from the mountain. With Turbo & Tempus we get two new exciting attractions for the whole family, just the right amount of thrill and fun to ride together, says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.

Also new for the summer season at Liseberg is AtmosFear VR – a tailor-made ”virtual reality” experience while you travel at a speed of 110km/h down Europe’s highest ”free fall”. The new restaurant Al Parco opens its doors with steaming fresh Neapolitan pizzas, pasta and antipasti on the menu. And in the new candy shop Curiosa Nebulosa, guests are treated to a magical candy experience that is as delicious for the palate as it is for the eye.
