The expansion of the codeshare partnership between Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways follows the airlines' recently signed partnership agreement, with more routes to be added shortly.
Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced the launch of an expanded codeshare agreement, which will see the airlines share certain flights so that passengers can book tickets on both airlines. The agreement covers 19 destinations, with more planned in the future. Kenya Airways customers will now be able to book codeshare flights between Nairobi and Doha, as well as to ten additional destinations with convenient connections via Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Similarly, Qatar Airways customers will now have access to eight destinations within Kenya Airways’ network, with three daily flights connecting Doha and Nairobi. Passengers will be able to travel on these codeshare flights from 26 October 2025. Tickets will go on sale from 21 October.
“We are delighted with the progress that has been made just a few months after the partnership with Kenya Airways began. This improvement is a testament to our joint efforts that further strengthen our presence in Kenya and on the African continent. The addition of Qatar Airways’ third daily flight to Nairobi is also a milestone in this partnership, driven by strong demand from passengers seeking reliable and seamless connectivity,” said Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer, Qatar Airways.
“We are delighted to begin this new chapter in our partnership with Qatar Airways. The collaboration will significantly improve connectivity, particularly between Africa, the Middle East and Asia, by expanding our flight offering and opening up a world of new destinations for our customers. Together with Qatar Airways, we are committed to offering our customers easy access to a wide range of destinations, with better connections and a seamless travel experience,” said Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Kenya Airways.
The partnership will enable Qatar Airways to continue to expand its presence on the African continent, providing passengers from more than 170 destinations worldwide with easier access to key leisure and business destinations served by Kenya Airways, including Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola and Victoria Falls.
Similarly, Kenya Airways passengers will now be able to connect to multiple destinations in 10 countries in Asia and the Middle East via Hamad International Airport. These destinations include Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Malé, Singapore and Tokyo Narita.
Additionally, Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will be able to earn Avios on codeshare flights operated by Kenya Airways.
The two airlines will continue to collaborate in codeshare, airport operations, lounges, sustainability and procurement. Future phases and areas of collaboration will also include network development, cargo, aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.
