On the theme of "Sustainable tourism in practice", Region Västerbotten Tourism is organizing a national conference on March 22. The conference is digital and is aimed at tourism industry players in both the private and public sectors.
– Västerbotten is at the forefront when it comes to sustainable tourism and I hope that through the conference we can make more people see that there are low thresholds for getting started, says Sirpa Karki, tourism strategist at Region Västerbotten and one of the conference moderators.
About the conference
Randy Durband, CEO of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and Västerbotten County Governor Helene Hellmark Knutsson will participate in the program. Also participating are the equality consultants Vkna who will talk about the benefits and working methods linked to increased accessibility, as well as companies who will share their own experiences of practical sustainability measures. There will also be input from the Center for Tourism Research, Dalarna University, and discussions about biodiversity and cultural heritage.
