Since 3 p.m. there have been major disruptions to train traffic due to an electrical fault between Linköping and Mjölby.
The stop affects traffic on the route between Stockholm, Malmö and Copenhagen.
It is unclear what caused the error - but Östgötatrafiken does not rule out that it may be related to the heat.
– There may be an explanation there. We hope to find an answer to that question in the continued work, says Isak Leek, traffic manager, to Corrin.
The Swedish Transport Administration has no forecast for when the problems might be resolved.
”"Unfortunately, we have limited access to replacement traffic for canceled routes," they write on their website.
According to SJ, hundreds of train passengers are affected and it is not possible to reroute traffic due to track work, writes TT.
At 6:50 p.m., traffic was back on track, but there will be longer travel times than usual throughout the evening, SJ says.
