The spread of COVID-19 is increasing and so is the demand for COVID tests.
At Apoteket, sales of antigen tests have increased by almost 30 percent in the past week. And compared to the previous month, the increase is over 100 percent.
”"We see a clear connection between the demand for antigen tests and the proportion of positive test results. It is almost exactly the same percentage increase in the number of antigen tests sold as the percentage increase in the proportion of positive test results," says Elin Sundin, category manager at Apoteket, in a press release.
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is increasing sharply in Sweden. In week 48, a total of 6,716 cases were reported, according to the latest statistics from the Public Health Agency of Sweden – an increase of 58 percent compared to the previous week.
”"In twelve regions, the number of cases increased by more than 50 percent between weeks,", writes the authority on its website.
