On Thursday, an Italian court ruled that the low-cost airline Ryanair must pay a fine of €1.85 million, equivalent to almost SEK 20 million, for improperly cancelling flights, according to reports. The Washington Post.  

Ryanair’s 2017 strike action was cancelled in September and October. According to the Italian Competition Authority, which issued the fine, the Irish company acted unfairly when it cancelled flights due to a previously known problem, according to The Washington Post. 

The authority also considers that Ryanair misled passengers by offering them a refund or a new ticket without informing them of their right to compensation.
