The sales volume of Swedish restaurants rose 7.7 percent in the first quarter compared to the corresponding quarter of 2022. This is according to statistics from Statistics Sweden.
In current prices, total restaurant industry sales increased by 17.2 percent during the first quarter, compared to the corresponding period last year.
”"The upturn in restaurant sales is largely explained by the fact that the first quarter of 2022 was affected by the restrictions introduced in connection with the spread of the omicron variant of Covid. Compared to the corresponding quarter in 2019, the development shows a slight decline in sales volume," says Karl Sahlberg, statistician at Statistics Sweden.
Compared to the first quarter of 2019, restaurant sales volume decreased by 1.7 percent.
