The European Court of Justice on Wednesday reduced the fines for several SAS companies. SAS comments on the decision and emphasizes that the judgment has limited financial impact.
On Wednesday, the decision was made that the European Court of Justice reduces SAS's fine of a total of 150,000 euros to 70.02 million euros, equivalent to 724 million kronor, for participating in a price cartel for air freight.
”"The partial reversal of the judgment confirms SAS's view that the first decision was wrong and SAS has now been upheld on a significant part of the points," the company wrote in a press release on Wednesday evening.
SAS further writes that it will now review the ruling to "ensure whether further action will be taken. SAS will continue to contest its responsibility in the civil proceedings that are largely based on the now partially overturned decision."”
Six other cargo airlines also had their fines reduced on Wednesday, while billion fine for Air France-KLM was determined.
