SAS is flagging the possibility of the Greenlandic self-government acquiring Air Greenland, of which SAS owns 37.5 percent.

This is stated in a press release.

The background is that the Danish state and the Greenlandic Home Rule Government have agreed on a political agreement on September 10, 2018, stating that the Greenlandic Home Rule Government will investigate whether it can acquire the shares in Air Greenland from the Danish state.

Following the political agreement as above, it is also announced that the Greenlandic Home Rule Government will investigate the possibility of acquiring SAS's shareholding in Air Greenland.

”"The transfer is conditional on both parties reaching a satisfactory agreement on a number of points, including the valuation of the shares. In addition, the potential acquisition of the shares owned by the Danish state is conditional on the necessary approvals being obtained from relevant authorities," the press release states.
