Thousands of SAS customers are still waiting for compensation for flights cancelled due to the coronavirus, and only a third have chosen the option of receiving a travel voucher instead of cash. But now SAS is sweetening the terms a bit.
Travelers who choose to take a voucher and thus be able to rebook the canceled trip to a new trip are now also offered a bonus of 350 kronor per person, says John Eckhoff, press manager at SAS Norway to Di.
”"Many are still waiting for compensation. And even if the refund is going at the same pace as we previously communicated, it will still take time."”
The bonus offer should be seen as an attempt to speed up the processing of remaining customer cases.
Approximately one in three customers has so far chosen the voucher option and by the beginning of July, SAS had handled 700,000 customer cases.
The offer of 350 SEK in discount is valid until the end of August. In the letter to its customers, SAS emphasizes that the offer is voluntary, but that the voucher is non-refundable.
