
A total of 1.9 million passengers travelled with SAS in March. This is an increase of 33 per cent compared to the same month last year.
Fresh traffic figures from the airline SAS also show that the number of passenger kilometres increased while capacity rose by 25 percent, compared to the same period last year.
”Demand from passengers continues its positive trend,” states CEO Anko van der Werff in a comment.
”During the month, we added another 10 routes and an increased number of departures for the upcoming summer and autumn. We are preparing for an active summer season with a total of 30 new routes added to the summer timetable,” he continues.
The cabin factor, i.e. the proportion of passengers of the number of available seats, for March was 76 percent, an improvement of 7 percentage points compared to March last year.
SAS shares plummeted by around 30 percent on Wednesday morning after Danish newspaper Berlingske reported that the airline could be delisted from the stock exchange. SAS's Head of Press in Denmark, Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, told Berlingske that it is too early to speculate about a potential delisting.
At the end of last week, SAS presented new information about the company's ongoing reconstruction and capital raising. In connection with this, the company reiterated that its existing shareholders should not expect any significant value to remain for them after the reconstruction process has been completed.
