A major power outage north of Skövde on Sunday is causing major problems for train passengers on the Gothenburg–Hallsberg–Stockholm route.
A switchgear has burned down and traffic on the western main line will be severely disrupted over the coming days, the Swedish Transport Administration writes in a press release.
The error, which occurred on Sunday morning, has caused major disruption to train traffic. SJ is rerouting trains via Nässjö and Karlstad, and thousands of passengers have been affected.
The Swedish Transport Administration has begun restoration work and will provide a more detailed forecast on Wednesday.
