Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed a new General Manager for the Nordic region. 43-year-old Jagdish Bhojwani will take the helm of the Asian airline giant in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland, succeeding Muhammad Raimi, who will continue his career with SIA in Paris. Jagdish has worked for the SIA Group since 2001, most recently as Area Manager for Singapore Airlines in Japan.
For 46 years, Singapore Airlines' Nordic headquarters has been located in Copenhagen. The region plays an important role in SIA's global network.
SIA's new General Manager for the Nordics, Jagdish Bhojwani, is taking over a growing market and looks forward to continuing the positive development and further strengthening Singapore Airlines' presence in the Nordic market.
”There is plenty of growth potential and untapped opportunities in the Nordics. Demand for travel to Southeast Asia and Australia remains high – both among leisure and business travellers. We have good load factors on our Scandinavian route, and I am delighted that this summer we can once again offer daily departures from Copenhagen Airport. It is important for us to continue to develop and innovate to ensure that the travel experience with SIA remains exceptional and of the highest quality. Personally, I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues, travel industry partners, and other stakeholders to take Singapore Airlines” Nordic flights to new heights," says Jagdish Bhojwani.
The travel market was less stable when Muhammad Raimi took office in 2021. Air traffic was still being affected by the aftermath of the pandemic, and it is therefore particularly pleasing for Raimi to be able to leave behind a market characterised by progress and a strong desire to travel.
”I will look back on my years in the Nordics as a special time in my career. The beginning was marked by strategic challenges related to the pandemic and the gradual reopening of the world. As the desire to travel returned, we launched exciting news such as the current five weekly flights, the best annual result in SIA's history and this summer we will once again have daily flights from Copenhagen. At the same time, Jagdish can look forward to a committed and competent team of employees and fantastic partners in all the Nordic countries,” says Muhammad Raimi.
