Ski tourism company Skistar does not want to comment on whether the new entry rules introduced in Norway on December 3, 2021 are considered to affect bookings at the company's Norwegian destinations, Trysil and Hemsedal.

”"We feel confident ahead of the winter season as we have operated our business for two winter and two summer seasons during the pandemic. We therefore have a lot of good experience with us and have both the organization and the leadership to do so this winter as well. We also know that the guests have been satisfied (more than 90 percent) and felt safe and secure with us," says Petra Hallenbrant, who also refers to the booking situation in connection with the latest report on October 1, which was up 15 percent compared to the winter season 2018/2019 before the pandemic.
Skistar has compiled information about the rules for its guests at their website. According to the new, stricter requirements, all people over the age of 16 must register on a website no earlier than three days before entering Norway. Covid tests must be carried out either at testing stations at the border or with a self-test within 24 hours of arrival.
”"We try to inform our guests about this, but everyone also has a great responsibility to stay updated on what applies," writes Petra Hallenbrant.
Quarantine rules in Norway remains as before. For fully vaccinated people with two doses or people who have had covid-19 in the last six months, there is no requirement for quarantine. For unvaccinated people or people who were vaccinated early and where more than six months have passed since the last vaccination, there is, however, a requirement for 10 days of quarantine. The quarantine can be broken no earlier than 3 days after arrival upon presentation of a negative PCR test.
”"All of our destinations have been open since December 3, we follow the authorities' advice and recommendations and we have no restrictions that directly affect skiing in either Norway or Sweden today," continues Petra Hallenbrant.
For trips during the pre-season from November 8 to December 12, Skistar applies free cancellation and rebooking until you check in.
With 21 days or more until your trip, cancellations and rebookings can be made for those who have ordered cancellation insurance. In this case, no valid reason is required. In the event of cancellation, Skistar retains the cost of the cancellation insurance plus an administration fee of 195 SEK.
Cancellations or rebookings with less than 21 days left until arrival requires a valid reason that must be confirmed with a certificate to receive a refund for the trip.
During the 2020/2021 winter season, Skistar lost almost 400 million kronor in turnover due to strict restrictions in Norway. Normally, 80 percent of Skistar's visitors in the western neighbor are Swedes, Danes or international guests.
