London, Malaga and Alicante were the most popular non-Nordic destinations among travelers in the Nordic region in 2024. In addition to nearly 23 million travelers flying with Norwegian last year, over 55,000 pairs of skis were transported and 210,000 liters of beer were consumed on board.
2024 was marked by both new travel destinations and a weak krona. New destinations such as Hurghada, Dubai and Agadir were popular alternatives to the more expensive Euro countries, but despite this, it was the traditional favorites that topped the lists from the main Nordic airports.
– London is still the clear favorite from Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. Among Finnish travelers, however, Malaga is the most popular. The fact that Spain dominates the lists is not surprising as it has been the favorite country for many Nordics for many years. A full three million passengers from the Nordic countries traveled to the most popular destinations London, Malaga, Alicante and Barcelona in 2024, says Norwegian's Director of Communications Charlotte Holmbergh.

This is what travelers consume the most on board
Many people buy something to eat or drink on board. In 2024, 210,000 liters of beer, about 120,000 liters of wine and sparkling wine, 1.5 million cups of coffee and tea and a full 600,000 liters of water were consumed on Norwegian flights. And if you wonder whether Coca Cola or Pepsi Max was most popular, Pepsi Max won by a small margin of only 5,000 cans. The best-selling products on board Norwegian in 2024 were water, followed by coffee, chips, panini, Pepsi Max and Coca-Cola.
A lot of luggage on board
In 2024, six percent of Norwegian's total of 22.6 million passengers purchased extra luggage when they arrived at the airport, either via the check-in counter or the self-service machines.
It's not uncommon to shop a little too much on holiday. In that case, it's a good idea to buy extra luggage before you leave. Although it can be difficult to pack correctly, only one percent of travelers had luggage that was too heavy. In addition to many suitcases, Norwegian carried 55,000 pairs of skis last year.
