One billion Chinese are discovering Stockholm. With 150 million trips abroad a year, the Chinese are the most traveled people in the world and 80% of them document their stay on the lifestyle app WeChat. Now the destination Stockholm is represented here in the form of an exciting mini-program.
Stockholm's mini-program is an accessible, inspiring and practical way to use today's technology to experience the best of Stockholm. WeChat's destination program offers travelers information on everything from trendy restaurants to local rain showers during their stay.
Technically innovative solutions are a natural part of Stockholm, which is a world leader in the technology industry, and the city has a close collaboration with the business community to continue promoting Stockholm as a welcoming and well-functioning tourist destination for all Chinese visitors.
The number of Chinese visitors to Stockholm has increased in recent years and continues to be a growing group. Last year, 150,000 Chinese guests visited Stockholm.
”"China is an extremely important market for us and offers us many exciting opportunities going forward. WeChat's mini-destination program about Stockholm is a fantastic way to continue to encourage and inspire Chinese people to visit Stockholm and also get the most out of the experience on site, together with the industry."”, says Lotta Andersson, Marketing and Analysis, Visit Stockholm.
The mini-program is a joint initiative of Visit Stockholm, Visit Sweden, Tencent, Scandic Hotels, Radisson Hotel Group, Nordic Choice Hotels, Elite Hotels of Sweden, Swedavia and Pandox.
