On Friday 30/9, Sweden's fifth national cycle route, Ätradalsleden, will be inaugurated, which runs between Falköping and Falkenberg. The inauguration will be carried out by the municipalities of Falköping, Ulricehamn, Tranemo, Svenljunga and Falkenberg, who, together with the West Coast Foundation and the Tourist Board, will be testing bicycles between Månstad and Glasets hus in Limmared.

-EtratedThe trail is an important and exciting venture with great potential that can lift the tourism industry in the hinterland to a new level, says Per Svensson (S,), Chairman of the Municipal Board, Falkenbergs municipality

The trail is a total of 200 kilometers long and about half of it is on a completely car-free embankment. The work on the trail, which was officially approved as a national cycle trail this spring, has now reached a new milestone with signage, where three of the four stages are now complete with directional signage material.

-That the trail has been created is the result of long and patient work on the part of the municipalities, with the West Coast Foundation acting as the regional principal. The process of having the Swedish Transport Administration approve the trail is a fine example of cooperation between municipalities and us as a regional actor. It is very pleasing that we have now reached our goal and can contribute to the development of cycle paths in Sweden with another trail, says Olle Wängborg, project manager at the West Coast Foundation.

The Ätradalsleden trail stretches from Falköping in the north to Falkenberg in the south where it connects to the Kattegattleden trail, which is Sweden's first national cycle trail.

– The Ätradal Trail connects Western Sweden with our country.nnregion Halland and creates new opportunities for cycle tourism and destination development. This type of trail development is extremely positive for everyone working in the West Swedish tourism industry, says Henrik Linneros, project manager for cycle tourism, Tourist Council VEastern Sweden.

According to the press release.
