The Danish state and the Danish state pension administrator ATP have agreed to buy 59.4 percent of the shares in Københavns Lufthavne A/S, which operates Kastrup Airport, the Danish Ministry of Finance writes in a press release.

The price tag comes to around 32 billion Danish kronor (equivalent to 50 billion SEK).

If the deal is completed – which depends on regulatory approvals – the Danish state will in future own a total of 98 percent of the shares in Københavns Lufthavne A/S.

The Danish state currently owns 39.2 percent of the shares.

The deal was reached after the Danish government entered into an agreement with several other Danish parties that gives it a mandate to purchase a majority stake in the company.
