On Sweden's National Day on June 6, Herring Day will be held on Klädesholmen outside Tjörn and the organizers are once again planning for the wonderful folk festival that was before the pandemic.
Herring Day is an event that aims to celebrate both herring and pickled herring, which is one of Sweden's oldest food traditions.
On National Day, a long table is set up along the entire harbor pier where visitors can buy a tasting plate of herring – all proceeds from which are donated to the Swedish Sea Rescue.
During the event you can also take part in the market with exhibitors, the launch of the Herring of the Year, make your own Midsummer herring, see the Sea Rescue's display, participate in the fish auction, listen to the cultural school's performance or go on a RIB boat trip.
