Several people were injured when two trains crashed into each other on the popular tourist route near the Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru, authorities said.
Most of the injured are foreign tourists.
Police reports on the number of injured vary between 13 and 23 people. The newspaper La República reports that five have serious injuries.
The injured have been taken away by ambulance and the accident will be investigated, according to one of the train companies, Perú Rail.
The other company that operates traffic in the area is called Inca Rail, both are privately owned.
