Traffic over the Øresund Bridge has gradually increased during the spring and summer and is steadily approaching pre-pandemic levels.
Around 85 percent of The train traffic is back, writes Øresundsbron in a press release and refers to a comparison between the first half of this year and the first half of 2019.
”The year started again with restrictions and border controls, but developed positively with increased traffic across the bridge each month,” summarises Linus Eriksson in the press release.
Goods traffic with lorries and commercial vehicles is at a higher level than in 2019, and Danish leisure traffic to Sweden is at the same level as before the pandemic.
However, this is not the case for Swedish leisure traffic to Denmark, which, according to Öresundsbron, may be partly due to the fact that air traffic at Copenhagen Airport has not yet fully returned to pre-pandemic levels.
The Öresund Bridge's result before value adjustments for the first half of this year was DKK 471 million, which is significantly better than last year, but DKK 93 million lower than the first half of 2019.
