There are major delays and many canceled trains in southern Sweden after a major signaling system failure in the traffic control in Malmö on Tuesday evening.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, train traffic is not expected to return to normal until Wednesday morning, reports SVT News.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, stations in Skåne, Kalmar, Blekinge, Halland, Västra Götaland, Jönköping, Kronoberg and Östergötland are affected.
– The trains have started running, but there are still cancelled trains and major delays in southern Sweden, says Therese Strömberg at the Swedish Transport Administration's press service to SVT.
Parts of the train service were back in operation at around 9:30 p.m.
– The traffic was stopped due to a communication error between our traffic information manager who cannot see the train traffic and then they shut it down completely. It is quite unusual, says Mona Huovinen at the Swedish Transport Administration to SVT.
