On Saturday, April 9th, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, artists will gather on the Royal Park STHLM garden terrace to jointly show their support for Ukraine in a charity concert for UNICEF in the presence of Andrii Plakhotniuk, Ukraine's ambassador to Sweden. All ticket proceeds will go to UNICEF.
Ukraine's ambassador to Sweden, Andrii Plakhotniuk, will speak about the current situation in Ukraine and on stage will perform artists such as Mellodrottningarna Klara Hammarström and Wiktoria, Bachelor of the Year - artist Hatami, multi-platinum-selling hip-hop artist Mange Schmidt, 00s pop princesses Miio and Paola (Teddybears), Julia Frej, Pariserhjulet, soul singer and choir leader Caroline af Ugglas, currently single Günther and last but not least, Rigo, one of the few people who has been inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame twice (!) for his contributions to Latin Kings and Infinite Mass.
"For me, it is a great honor to be able to participate and contribute to something as important as this. The children in Ukraine need all the support they can get now that more than 1 million Ukrainian children are refugees," says rapper and father of two, Mange Schmidt.
Klara Hammarström, who has participated no less than three times in Melodifestivalen, performs together with other artists such as Caroline af Ugglas, one of our most famous soul Swedish voices, Wictoria who has been on Svensktoppen and is known from Melodifestivalen, rapper Mange Schmidt, Günther, Ambivalensen, Paola, with newer artists such as Bella Winth, Natalie Lindh, Jay and many more.
In this solidarity gathering to the tunes of a full-day concoction of different genres with everything from mello acts, 90s and 00s, electronic beats to pop and hip hop, Ukrainian-inspired street food is served. The food is prepared by Ukrainian chefs over crackling open fires and with the warmth of the magically large, heated tent, inviting you to a pure festival atmosphere.
The menu features Ukrainian dishes such as a classic Dranik, where potato rösti is the basis for eggs, steak and sour cream, topped with pickles. Or why not try Ukrainian dumplings and pierogi or any of the other exciting dishes served? Royal Park's very own brewery is on hand to supply beer through Pravda Brewery's initiative, #brewforUkraine, where they share their famous beer recipe with breweries around the world to raise funds for aid organizations on the ground in Ukraine.
