Viking Line is implementing a major change to its management organization and forming a new central management team. At the same time, the shipping company will recruit a Chief Commercial Officer and a Chief Operating Officer.
The new management group will be named the Viking Leadership Team, VLT, and according to Viking Line, will create a clearer division of responsibilities and a more business-oriented organization.
The group includes CEO Marcus Risberg, CFO Mats Engblom, CTO Ulf Hagström and Marketing Director Peter Hellgren.
In addition, two new management roles have been added that have not yet been filled.
A Chief Commercial Officer, CCO, will have overall responsibility for passenger acquisition, onboard sales and concept development. A Chief Operating Officer, COO, will be responsible for HR, purchasing and Customer Service & Sales.
Several managers get new roles
The reorganization also means changes for several people in the current management.
Johanna Boijer-Svahnström continues with responsibility for external communication and community relations. Wilhelm Hård af Segerstad moves to a strategic role with responsibility for purchasing and logistics.
Henrik Grönvik continues as ship manager for Viking Grace.
The changes will be implemented gradually over the coming months. The current management structure will remain in place during the transition period while recruitment for the two new management positions begins.
Viking Line states that the new appointments will be announced when the recruitment processes are completed.
