Ving recently released next summer's charter flights from Jönköping Airport to popular destinations such as Mallorca and Croatia, which has immediately boosted bookings. In the past two weeks, sales of both winter and summer trips have increased by 50 percent compared to the same period before the pandemic.
The demand for travel from Jönköping Airport is high. The occupancy rate on flights to Gran Canaria this winter is better than last year and the number of booked passengers has increased by over 100 percent despite increased capacity. Ahead of the autumn holidays week 44, which is one of the most popular travel weeks of the year, just over 7 out of 10 seats are already booked.
– Despite uncertain times, the desire to travel is great and we see this not least in the pressure on sales. Winter trips from Jönköping are now being taken at a breakneck pace, especially the first departures that coincide with the autumn holidays. We can also note that this summer's departures to Mallorca and Croatia, where the latter made a comeback after a few years of hiatus, were very popular. It is therefore great that we can also offer these destinations next summer, says Claes Pellvik, Head of Communications at Ving.
The announcement is also good news for the airport.
– It's great that Ving is continuing to invest in both destinations. We know that many people want to secure a week of sun protection early and book into their favorite hotel. In addition, we are experiencing high demand for travel from Jönköping, so it's very positive that it is already available for booking now, says Henrik Älverdal, Commercial Manager Jönköping Airport.
Ving flies to Mallorca with its own airline, Sunclass Airlines, while departures to Gran Canaria and Croatia are flown in collaboration with BRA.
