Norway's new destination hotel, Wood Hotel Bodø, opened on 15 May 2024. Both locals and visitors from afar gathered at a brand-new outdoor resort atop Rønvikfjellet in Bodø.
Barely two years after construction began, the fully booked Wood Hotel Bodø was able to open the doors to the magnificent building in Bodø, Norway. On Wednesday, many Bodø residents made their way up Rønvikfjellet to discover the town's new hotel sensation, complete with 177 grand hotel rooms and apartments, the ATTME restaurant, a rooftop pool, and the new Café Turisthytta.
– We couldn't have dreamed of a better opening day. It's fantastic to see such great interest and enthusiasm from our first guests, but most of all from everyone who remembers the old Turisthyttan and is happy that there's life again at the top of Rønvikfjellet, says Kenneth Stensland, General Manager at Wood Hotel Bodø.

Straight to the top of the charts
True to its name, large parts of the Wood Hotel Bodø are built of wood, something that attracted great interest on its opening day. At the same time, many were looking forward to taking in the much-talked-about view from the eighth-floor roof terrace, where guests can also find a gym, sauna, wellness area, and a heated outdoor pool.

– Bodø has a new attraction. Imagine lying and splashing in the pool with views of the Lofoten Islands in one direction and Helgeland in the other. Wood Hotel Bodø sails straight onto the top list of spectacular and unique experiences within Strawberry. Here we have a fantastic hotel with a magical location, and I am convinced that this will be a success, says Strawberry's owner Petter A. Stordalen, who will himself be attending the opening party later in June.
