SJ's high-speed trains began rolling again at 2 PM after this morning's complete stoppage.
”There might be the occasional cancelled departure, but overall, the service will run as planned,” says Peter Kraméus, communications strategist at SJ.
SJ has spent the night and morning searching for faults on its X2000 trains, which has crippled the operator's high-speed train services in Sweden. A broken wheel was discovered on Sunday, and SJ therefore wanted to ensure that no wheels from the same order shared similar defects. The wheels are fitted to 13 of the X2000 trains.
was therefore cancelled on Monday morning and forenoon. Other trains, however, have run as usual, as have those operated by SJ's competitor VR.
SJ's high-speed train services resumed at around 2 PM.
”Traffic has resumed from 2 PM. The vast majority of trains will run according to the timetable,” says Kraméus.
SJ says it has contacted all affected travellers. Inger Petersson was informed that her holiday trip to Norway had been cancelled due to ”vehicle failure” and was offered to cancel the trip – free of charge.
”That's what they write. But who pays for the hotel, three nights in Oslo, for example? They don't write about that. The trip cost 1,800 and the hotel 5,000 kronor.”
