First Camp, Scandinavia's largest camping chain, continues its expansion in Norway and now acquires its fifth destination in the country – Beitostølen Hytter & Camping. The destination will be the chain's 73rd and is expected to open in spring 2025.
Beitostølen is a well-known and popular ski destination, appreciated for its early season opening in November and its reliable snow conditions throughout the winter. The campsite has a total of 363 campsites, of which approximately 270 are seasonal sites, as well as 27 cabins and apartments. With its scenic location three hours from Oslo and only 1.5 hours from First Camp Gol – Hallingdal, Beitostølen is a popular year-round destination for both ski enthusiasts and outdoor enthusiasts.
”We are delighted to welcome Beitostølen Hytter & Camping to the First Camp family. This acquisition fits perfectly into our strategy to build a strong network of destinations in Norway, and we continue to see great growth potential in the country. Beitostølen’s fantastic location and high proportion of seasonal guests give us a solid foundation to build on, and we have no plans to change this. Later this year, the destination will be bookable on First Camp’s website, which is the largest booking channel for camping and cottage accommodation in Scandinavia, and we are also looking forward to introducing our popular loyalty program First Camp Club here, so that guests can earn bonus points on their stays.”, says Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp.
The campsite will continue to be run by the current owners, but the change of ownership means a more capital-strong and long-term management, which will benefit both guests and the development of the destination. First Camp sees great strength in the loyal group of seasonal guests and will continue to develop the business with their needs in focus.
”"We look forward to working with the current owners and further strengthening the campsite's offering, while maintaining the strong connection with the loyal seasonal guests. We know that our seasonal families are an important part of the community at our destinations, and we will ensure that they can take advantage of our unique seasonal benefits on selected services and discounts at other destinations in the chain,"” says Vebjørn Hagen, Regional Manager Norway at First Camp.
